Description
The therapeutic potential of plants from the Lamiaceae family, particularly Mecromeria species, has attracted significant attention in recent years due to their diverse medicinal properties with notable efficacy in addressing a spectrum of health issues, including Alzheimer's disease, cardiovascular disorders, and cancer [1, 2, 3].
Our research aims to evaluate the antioxidant potential of two extracts—ethyl acetate and butanol—derived from our medicinal plant, using four distinct methods: DPPH, ABTS, FRAP, and phenanthroline assays. In addition, their anticholinesterase (anti-Alzheimer), antidiabetic, and UV-protective effects were assessed. The total phenolic and flavonoid contents of the extracts were quantified, and correlations between these contents and the sun protection factor (SPF) were analyzed. The results were encouraging and suggest promising biological activities
